Hi, I’m Aleksia Qesari, a final-year architecture student at the University of Maryland’s School of Architecture, Planning & Preservation. My passion for design is shaped by my experiences traveling between the U.S. and Greece, where I saw firsthand how architecture defines a community’s identity.
Through my academic journey, I have explored civic and educational architecture, sustainability, and the intersection of history and design. I am particularly drawn to creating spaces that foster connection, engagement, and meaningful storytelling. From studio projects to hands-on research, I continuously seek ways to merge creativity with functionality, ensuring that design not only serves but also inspires. This portfolio is a reflection of that vision.

About Me

Featured Projects
Take a look at one of my favorite designs—a Performing Arts Center at the intersection of H and 13th Street in Washington, D.C. Inspired by the fluid movement of a winding plaza designed by my peers, the building embraces a trapezoidal motif in both plan and section, echoing the dynamic volumetric play of Ruby City. More than just a venue, this design aims to enrich H Street’s civic energy, creating an immersive architectural experience that seamlessly integrates with its urban surroundings.

Browse my latest studio project! Here I reimagine the Byron Scenic Overlook, a historic site overlooking the Monocacy National Battlefield, into a dynamic educational and cultural destination. Inspired by the site’s rich Civil War history and dramatic topography, this design focuses on guiding visitors emotionally and physically through spaces of compression and expansion.
